This one is hopefully gonna be short but…
today, I read a website that talked about the 10 worst song lyrics ever and in the honorable mention category was Alanis Morissette for the lyrics to Ironic to which the blogger wrote:
“All the lyrics to Alanis Morrisette’s ‘Ironic’ – it’s not ironic, it’s just unfortunate, you stupid cow!” (The blogger misspelled her name. Sorry! It’s a pet peeve of mine…)
So I thought I would take this opportunity to write a few things that have recently been ironic to me (they may soon become actual full posts but then again maybe not):
- Rev. Jesse Jackson’s comments about Barack Obama
- Britney Spears going to Louisiana to help her sister, Jamie Lynn, in the birth of her child but not taking care of her own kids who live but a few minutes/miles away in California
- Girls in MA making a supposed “pregnancy pact” and the Board of Education thinking that the reason may be the failed sexual education (not enough contraception) taught in schools
- Hillary Clinton supporters not helping to satisfy her debt by going to, and we all know where because HRC reminded us in every speech (even in concession), hillaryclinton.com/barackobama.com and giving
- Barack Obama supporting updates to FISA and NAFTA (somewhat…?)
- John McCain calling Barack Obama out for votes that he says he made and Obama missed when actually neither of them were on the Senate floor
- Rich politicians, who may happen to be senators from Texas or vice chairmen of a large Swiss bank, telling American citizens, who are not as privileged as they are or who are jobless or who are, I don’t know, poor, that they are whining about the economy and then telling others that they are out of touch
- The prices being asked for pictures of celebrity children and the more useful ways that money could be used (the second link outlines some of the ways)
- Fox News
- The average price of gas in CT being more than the national average
- Preoccupation with Madonna
- People who pass judgments on friends/people around them with regard to their lifestyle choices without recognizing that same judgment could be placed on the ones “closest” to them
- Women who yell sexism but remain silent when the same type of filth is broadcast toward a different target. After all, don’t all women apply when talking about sexism/feminism…?
- Katherine Heigl
There may be more but I can’t remember that right now. Stupid cows!
